Reduced Calorie Diets


Our 1200, 1500, 1800 Calorie diets and the Reduced Calorie diets were selected for those people who would like to take in fewer Calories based on preference, or for a Calorie restricted diet prescribed by their Physician. When the specific nutrient information was provided by the restaurant, the 1200 Calorie, 1500 Calorie diet and the 1800 Calorie diets are available as options. The 1200 Calorie diet meals are based on the premise of 400 Calories or less per meal. The 1500 Calorie diet meals are based on the premise of 500 Calories per meal or less. The 1800 Calorie diet options are based on the premise of 600 Calories or less per meal. If you are follow a meal plan that allows for 3 meals a day and snacks, you can adjust your selections. For example, if you are on a 1800 Cal diet that allows for 3 meals of 500 Calories and 2 (150 Calorie) snacks, then choose the 1500 Calorie diet options to provide you with 500 Calorie meals. For the Reduced Calorie options, I picked what I believe to be the lower Calorie options at that restaurant that also seemed to be lower in sodium and carbohydrates. I picked options that seemed to have the potential to be filling, tasty, and/or also have a fruit or vegetable and be a meal. In general, all of the meal options are less than 2,000 mg of sodium and relatively lower in Carbohydrates than the average meal. This was calculated on specific nutrient information when provided by the restaurant. When specific nutrient information was not available, we picked the options that seemed to be a relatively lower Calorie, lower sodium and lower in Carbohydrates than other options. If sodium and Carbohydrates are also a concern, please make sure you also check a reduced Carbohydrate diet and/or a low sodium diet.
