Stephen Colbert comments on Plan for Supersize Soda Prohibition

Stephen Colbert comments on New York City's Mayor, Michael Bloomberg's plan to ban supersize soda. Unlike the prohibition on alcohol, this prohibition would allow soda, but only if it's under 16 oz or if it's sold in the grocery store. You just couldn't buy them in restaurants, delis, food trucks, movie theaters and sporting arenas. In addition to soda, you wouldn't be able to buy sports drinks either. Any drink that's more than half milk or more than 70% juice would be exempt. So you can buy beer, but not gatorade. You can buy red bull, but not lemonade. You could buy a supersize milkshake with whipped cream on top, but not your favorite's restaurant's house made sweet tea. Confused? I'll let Stephen explain.

I cannot understand how they could prohibit this. If somebody wants to drink this then they can. Unsure how they make a law like this.

Yes the modern generation would like to have more snacks in these days without knowing the side effects of those unhealthy snacks. If you are planning for a trip prefer to prepare the snacks in your home and carry with you for the trip.

I would say the decision by the New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s plan to Ban the supersize soda from the public stores and this is not a right thing to my eyes as there are still availability of the beer and alcoholic beverages in the public availability. visit the site

It's not the worst idea to ban the soda. I am on a strictly juice and water. I even installed a water fountain in my fermeture de terrasse for my kids. I also put in a spot for a juice bar on my veranda last year.
